The Great Deku Tree, guardian spirit of the forest, summons Navi the faire to find the " boy without a faire" (Link)
to him. The Deku Tree tells Link that he has been cursed, and asks Link to break the curse.
This is the first dungeon in the game, and one of the easiest. Navi will helpfully point things out along the way, like
the rough vines that you can climb. After you defeat Gohma, the Deku Tree will give you first Spiritual Stone - the Kokiri's
Emerald, and tell you to go and see the Princess Zelda.
Zelda will tell you about her dream and explain the remainder of the Quest. Giving you her letter of authorization, she
will instruct you to go and find the other two Spiritual Stones. Her attendent Impa, will guide you out of the castle, and
teach you " Zelda's Lullaby." Memorize this song: play it whenever there is mention of the Royal Family or a Triforce
Symbol.

The boss of the Deku Tree is Queen Gohma. As you walk in the room the door will slam shut behind you. Look around the ceiling
until you see her eye staring at you. She will crawl forward and drop to the floor in front of you. As she advances her eye
will glow red - hit her in the eye with your sling shot and attack while she's stunned. If you use z targeting and follow
her progress when she climbs on the ceiling you can shoot her down again when her eye glows red. If you don't she will lay
eggs and the baby spiders will attack. If you don't manage to shoot her quickly destroy the eggs before they hatch. She won;t
attack you while the babies are around, but you don't want to waste time and life beating them. Once you beat her the warp
portal and a heart container will appear. Each heart container increases your life by one heart.
